Welcome home Ginger and Bear

Two new puppies have made it to our house. It was a quiet two months with out having a dog around. I (we) missed the excited greetings we would get when we came home.

Bear is the little male black lab that Matt fell in love with right away. Ginger is the yellow female that I new we couldn't leave with out. So. We came home with both. They are brother and sister from the same litter.

Emily is recovering very well.

We had quite the day on Friday. It started at 8:25 am when I slammed her poor little hand in the car door. I was dropping the kids off at school......

The clinic here in town sent us on to Fargo saying her fingers were broke and we needed to see a hand specialist. So we sat in the ER from 11 am to about 5:00pm. when they took her in for surgery. Her surgery lasted two hours. And she was in recovery for another hour before they sent her to her own room upstairs in the hospital. Poor little baby! She's been such a good trooper about this.
Any suggestion on how to get those sticky things off of her chest?
Emily goes in tomorrow for her post op check up.....and they hope that she will get the pins ( rods ?) our by January 12. Luckily the bones didn't puncture thru the skin so the healing should go much faster and better than if it had been the worst....
She has mom making chocolate malts for breakfast and dad running for popscicles in the middle of blizzard weather.....no it wasn't her tonsils that were affected.....we just wanted to make sure she was happy. :)
They gave us a prescription for pain meds on Friday and today (Monday) is the first day she has said her hand hurt.
She went to school today..... she missed all her little friends, and the way it looked when I dropped her off, they missed her too.

A hunting he will go Part 2

One would think the squirrel must have been eating the "sunflowers" to have been as big as he was. and NO I did not let Matt talk me into eating it! LOL

A hunting he will go!

Mavericks first"kill". Poor squirrel. His dad was so proud! Me......just thinks hunting is dangerous! :) Mavericks used Matt's 22 (whatever that means)
Matt's friend Kelly, said it looked more like a fox than a squirrel! It was as big as Maggie!
